Casablanca – Jet Contractors has been awarded a major contract to construct the new train station for the Grand Hassan II Stadium in Benslimane province, marking a significant milestone in Morocco’s ongoing transport infrastructure expansion. The total contract value is estimated at approximately $42.9 million, positioning the company at the forefront of one of the country’s largest strategic development projects.
The Moroccan National Railways Office (ONCF) selected Jet Contractors after a competitive tender process involving seven bidders, including TGCC, SGTM, Sogea Maroc, and the EMB/Somachame alliance. The consortium of China Overseas Engineering Group/China Railway 5 was excluded following technical evaluations. Jet Contractors’ offer was both the lowest and the most compliant with tender specifications, approximately $7.2 million below the highest bid.
The station is being constructed in close proximity to the future Grand Hassan II Stadium, a 115,000-seat venue planned to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, jointly organized by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal. Once operational, the station is expected to serve as a key transport hub, handling up to 12 million passengers annually. It will provide rapid connections between Casablanca and Rabat in 15 to 20 minutes by combining high-speed Al Boraq trains with RER commuter services, significantly improving accessibility to the stadium for spectators and visitors.
The scope of work for Jet Contractors is comprehensive, encompassing all aspects of station construction. This includes excavation, foundational work, structural steel frameworks, insulation, roofing, electrical and HVAC systems, plumbing, carpentry, and interior finishes. The company will also develop platforms, organize external public spaces and transport interchanges, construct commercial areas, install platform canopies, and create landscaped green zones. Construction is scheduled to last approximately 24 months, aiming for completion well ahead of the World Cup events.
This station represents more than just a transport facility; it is a central component of Morocco’s broader strategic plan to modernize its railway network. Launched by ONCF in October 2025, the initiative includes the construction of 24 new stations, three technical centers, and nine maintenance depots to expand and densify the national rail system. The project reflects Morocco’s ongoing commitment to sustainable mobility, integrating rail infrastructure into urban development, and supporting major international sporting events.
Beyond mobility, the Hassan II Stadium station is expected to generate significant regional economic benefits. It will create direct and indirect employment opportunities, enhance the attractiveness of Benslimane province, and contribute to local commercial and social development. By improving connectivity between Morocco’s major urban centers, the station is poised to reduce traffic congestion while facilitating smoother travel for both residents and visitors.
Founded as a general contractor specializing in large-scale infrastructure projects, Jet Contractors has extensive experience across Morocco and North Africa. Its portfolio includes railway stations, airports, highways, public buildings, and energy and water projects. The company is recognized for maintaining high technical standards, delivering projects on time and within budget, and supporting Morocco’s strategic development goals.
The Hassan II Stadium train station is therefore positioned as a model of next-generation infrastructure, combining innovation, efficiency, and modern mobility. Once completed, it will symbolize Morocco’s ambition to strengthen its transport network, support major global sporting events, and provide citizens with reliable, high-quality public transit services.
