The Casablanca-Settat region, in particular, emerges as a beacon of this trend, showcasing resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges. In 2023, a total of 93,517 new Moroccan companies were registered in the commercial registry, indicating a sustained level of business creation comparable to pre-pandemic levels. This surge in entrepreneurial endeavors is further highlighted by the registration of over 640,000 new businesses in the same year, marking a notable 0.17% increase from the previous year and an impressive 25% rise compared to 2019. Among the various legal forms of business entities, limited liability companies with a single partner and limited liability companies stand out as the most popular choices, collectively representing 99% of the total established companies. This preference underscores the flexibility and attractiveness of these legal structures for entrepreneurs seeking to establish and grow their ventures. Geographically, the Casablanca-Settat region leads the charge in entrepreneurial activity, accounting for 37% of new company establishments. Following closely are other key regions such as Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, and Marrakech-Safi, each contributing significantly to the nation's economic landscape. Delving into the sectors fueling this economic growth, the trade sector emerges as the frontrunner, commanding a substantial share of 27.6% among legal entities. This is closely followed by the construction sector, public works, and real estate activities, collectively comprising 21.9% of the entrepreneurial landscape. The prominence of these sectors underscores the diversity and dynamism of Morocco's economy, with businesses operating across various industries contributing to its overall growth trajectory. Moreover, the rise of individual entrepreneurship is a notable trend, with 29,490 individual businesses established in 2023.
