Casablanca – Renault Group achieved remarkable growth in 2024, with global sales reaching 2,264,815 vehicles, marking a 1.3% increase compared to 2023. The company attributed this success to the launch of 10 new models and its ongoing push into the electric vehicle market. While Renault’s presence expanded worldwide, Morocco emerged as a particularly noteworthy market.

Morocco: A key market for Renault

In 2024, Morocco solidified its position as Renault Group’s eighth-largest market globally and the leading market in Africa. The French carmaker sold 67,686 vehicles in Morocco, capturing an impressive 38.4% of the local market share. This achievement marked the highest market share among Renault’s top 15 global markets, underscoring the brand’s strong foothold in the country.

Dacia’s dominance in Morocco

Renault’s success in Morocco was significantly driven by its Dacia brand. The Dacia Jogger Hybrid 140, the first hybrid model produced locally, exemplified the brand’s adaptability to the Moroccan market’s needs. Priced at approximately $26,500, this seven-seater family car combines proven technology with energy efficiency, appealing to local consumers. The model’s launch in January 2025 is expected to further boost Dacia’s presence in Morocco.

Renault Group’s strategic expansion

Renault’s performance in Morocco is part of its broader strategy to strengthen its position in key international markets. Globally, Renault saw a 10.3% sales increase in Brazil and a remarkable 80.6% growth in South Korea, thanks to the launch of new models like the Kardian and Grand Koleos, respectively. In Europe, Renault’s sales rose by 3.5%, with over 1.5 million vehicles sold, cementing its status as a leading car manufacturer.

Electric and Hybrid vehicle push

Renault Group continued its electrification offensive in 2024, with electrified vehicles comprising 34.7% of its sales in Europe, a 4.3-point increase from 2023. Hybrid vehicle sales surged by 45%, accounting for 25.5% of the Group’s sales. The introduction of models like the Renault 5 E-Tech electric and the Scenic E-Tech electric played a significant role in this growth, positioning Renault as a key player in the transition to sustainable mobility.

Looking ahead: Renault’s 2025 Plans

Building on its 2024 achievements, Renault Group plans to launch seven new vehicles in 2025 to further its electrification strategy and enhance its market share in strategic regions. This includes the rollout of the Renault 4 E-Tech electric and the Dacia Bigster, which are expected to appeal to a broad range of customers.

Renault’s stellar performance in Morocco in 2024 highlights the brand’s effective market strategies and product offerings tailored to local needs. With continued innovation and expansion, Renault is poised to strengthen its position in Morocco and other key markets, driving growth and sustainability in the automotive sector.
