Casablanca – The Moroccan highway system, managed by Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM), has made significant strides in both infrastructure development and financial performance in 2024. Key projects such as the tripling of the Casablanca-Berrechid highway and the expansion of the Casablanca bypass are progressing ahead of schedule. With the tripling project 85% complete and the bypass expansion 70% finished, these developments are expected to greatly alleviate traffic congestion in the bustling Casablanca region.
ADM’s commitment to modernizing Morocco’s road network is underscored by its financial success. The company reported a consolidated revenue of over $266 million by mid-2024, a 30.1% increase compared to 2023. This growth is driven by an 8.2% rise in revenue from highway operations and a staggering 153% increase in construction-related revenues, reflecting both the execution of major projects and the growing demand for road usage.
Moreover, ADM saw a rise in social revenue, which reached $100.6 million, marking an 11% increase from the previous year. The company invested $42.6 million in the first half of 2024, with a focus on key projects like the Casablanca-Berrechid tripling and the expansion of the Tit Mellil-Berrechid highway. On the financial front, ADM also managed to reduce its consolidated debt by 2.7%, bringing it down to $3.53 billion by June 2024, signaling a focus on financial sustainability alongside its infrastructure ambitions.
In addition to these developments, ADM has participated in notable international events, showcasing Morocco’s growing role in infrastructure and logistics on a global scale. The appointment of Mohammed Cherkaoui Eddeqaqi as the new Director General in June 2024 reflects the company’s emphasis on strong leadership and continued strategic growth.
As Morocco’s infrastructure continues to evolve, ADM is positioned as a crucial player in supporting the nation’s economic growth and improving transportation across the country.
