Casablanca – In a move aimed at revitalizing the tourism sector and encouraging regional investment, Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy has launched the second edition of the national initiative “GO SIYAHA DAYS” (go tourism). The event, organized in partnership with Maroc PME and the National Confederation of Tourism (CNT), kicked off on June 24, 2025, in Casablanca and will continue through November, covering all twelve regions of the country.

The “GO SIYAHA DAYS” caravan is part of the government’s broader GO SIYAHA program, which seeks to stimulate entrepreneurship, expand tourism offerings, and promote sustainable and inclusive economic development throughout Morocco. The initiative focuses on providing targeted support to both established and emerging tourism businesses, particularly in high-potential areas such as business travel, ecotourism, coastal tourism, and rural tourism.

A strategic start in Casablanca-Settat

The Casablanca-Settat region was chosen as the starting point for the 2025 caravan due to its strategic position within Morocco’s tourism landscape. Known for its urban appeal, business travel infrastructure (notably MICE tourism – Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), cultural circuits, and nearby rural destinations, the region serves as a dynamic hub for various types of tourism.

In 2024, 176 tourism projects in the Casablanca-Settat region were supported through GO SIYAHA, representing a combined investment of more than $4 million. Examples include a lodging facility in Benslimane offering golf simulation, kayaking, quad biking, and jet skiing, as well as a guesthouse in Azemmour equipped with a swimming pool, a paintball area, a small football pitch, and a pedagogical farm.

Expanding reach and impact

The GO SIYAHA program has demonstrated significant momentum at the national level. Since its launch, it has backed 973 projects across Morocco, generating nearly around $47.4 million in investments. The program aims to support a total of 1,700 tourism enterprises by 2026, with a total allocated budget of about $74.2 million.

Throughout the caravan’s tour, project owners will have access to personalized consultations with industry experts, detailed presentations of available financing and technical support mechanisms, and networking opportunities with previous program beneficiaries. These exchanges are designed to foster knowledge-sharing and inspire new ventures, particularly in underdeveloped or emerging tourism niches.

Focus on sustainability and regional inclusion

This year’s edition places special emphasis on sustainable tourism development, encouraging projects that align with ecological goals and community-based tourism models. The GO SIYAHA program is structured around three core support mechanisms:

  1. Investment subsidies: Grants covering up to 35% of project costs, especially for infrastructure and tourism experience development.
  2. Technical assistance: Up to 90% coverage for consulting services related to strategy, digitization, financial planning, and operational efficiency.
  3. Green growth incentives: A premium of 40% for environmentally sustainable projects, with support also covering 90% of related service costs.

These incentives are intended to reduce barriers to entry for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups in the tourism sector, while also promoting the long-term sustainability of Morocco’s tourism ecosystem.

Encouraging a diverse and resilient tourism sector

The GO SIYAHA DAYS caravan serves not only as a promotional tool but also as a platform for dialogue and capacity building within the regional tourism ecosystem. By bringing central government representatives closer to local stakeholders, the initiative encourages tailored solutions that reflect the unique tourism potential of each region—from coastal cities like Mohammedia, which is being positioned as a leading seaside destination, to interior rural areas with rich cultural and natural heritage.

Casablanca’s role as a business and urban tourism hub was underscored during the caravan’s first stop, and future stages will spotlight other priority segments including ecotourism in mountain and rural areas, cultural heritage tourism, and recreational and wellness tourism.

Open access for entrepreneurs

The program is open to both new and existing tourism businesses, with simplified application processes available online. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply through the official platform:

Through this initiative, Morocco hopes to diversify its tourism offerings, boost local economies, and strengthen the sector’s resilience in the face of global challenges. As the 2025 edition of GO SIYAHA DAYS continues its tour, it is expected to uncover new opportunities, empower regional stakeholders, and build momentum toward a more innovative and inclusive tourism model.
