Casablanca – Spanish hospitality giant Hotusa, known for its Eurostars Hotel Company chain, has announced plans to expand its presence in Morocco ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
Hotusa revealed on Tuesday that it will open three new hotels in Morocco’s financial capital, Casablanca, by 2024 and 2025. This move marks Hotusa’s entry into the North African market, aiming to capitalize on the region’s burgeoning tourism industry.
Under the management of Eurostars Hotel Company, the hotels—branded as Eurostars and Exe—will cater to both business and leisure travelers, offering a blend of luxury and comfort. The first hotel, Eurostars Casa Anfa, is expected to welcome guests in the autumn of next year. Following this, Eurostars Californie is slated for a late 2024 debut, with Exe Zerktouni set to open by mid-2025. Together, these three establishments will add a total of 251 rooms to Casablanca’s hospitality landscape.
In a press release, Hotusa’s President, Amancio López, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s venture in Morocco, highlighting the country’s significance as the twentieth destination for Eurostars Hotel Company. Lopez emphasized, “These openings in Casablanca mark the initial phase of our expansion plan in North Africa, a region of strategic importance alongside Western Europe, the United States, and Latin America.”
The expansion in Morocco comes amid a wave of similar announcements from global hotel giants aiming to strengthen their presence ahead of the 2030 World Cup. Morocco, which welcomed 14.5 million visitors in 2023, aims to further boost its tourism numbers to 17 million by 2026 and 26 million by 2030.
