Casablanca – Hilton is ramping up its presence in Morocco, marking a major milestone in its global expansion plans. The renowned hospitality giant has signed agreements for nine new hotels, significantly increasing its footprint in the North African country. This move will see Hilton more than double its hotel portfolio in Morocco, with the addition of over 1,300 rooms across seven of its prestigious global brands.

Key developments in this expansion include the launch of the luxurious Waldorf Astoria brand in Rabat, marking the first property of its kind in Morocco, and the country’s inaugural LXR Hotels & Resorts in Casablanca. In addition to these high-end offerings, Hilton will introduce the Curio Collection by Hilton in both Rabat and Casablanca, as well as the Hampton by Hilton brand in the cities of Benguérir and Fes.

The new hotels are set to cater to a diverse range of travelers, from those seeking luxury experiences to those looking for more affordable options, all while showcasing Morocco’s rich cultural heritage blended with contemporary design.

Carlos Khneisser, Hilton’s Vice President for Development in the Middle East and Africa, highlighted the country’s increasing appeal as a tourist destination, noting that Morocco has seen a remarkable rise in tourism, with 13.1 million visitors in the first nine months of 2024—an increase of 2 million compared to the same period last year. “Morocco continues to grow as a highly sought-after destination, and with these new openings, we are proud to offer Hilton’s world-class hospitality to more visitors, supporting the country’s vibrant tourism industry,” Khneisser said.

These new properties will not only help meet the increasing demand for quality accommodations but will also contribute to the local economy, creating more than 1,500 jobs for the region. The planned hotels will feature a mix of luxury and lifestyle experiences, incorporating Moroccan design elements that honor the country’s culture while offering modern amenities.

In Rabat, the Hilton portfolio will gain a significant boost with the addition of the Waldorf Astoria Rabat-Salé, which is set to open in 2025 within the iconic Mohammed VI Tower. This luxury hotel will occupy the upper floors of the tower, offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the cities of Rabat and Salé. The hotel will include 55 lavish rooms and suites, a wellness center, event spaces, and four fine-dining restaurants, promising a unique and premium experience for guests.

With its continued expansion, Hilton aims to support Morocco’s ambitious tourism goals, which include attracting 26 million visitors by 2030. The new properties, which are expected to open in the coming years, represent Hilton’s commitment to Morocco and to growing its presence in Africa, where it sees great potential for continued success.

As Hilton continues to bring new global brands to Morocco, it looks forward to creating memorable stays for visitors and further strengthening its long-standing legacy in the region.
