Casablanca – As the summer of 2024 approaches, the Moroccan government, in collaboration with the National Tourist Office and the National Railway Office, has launched a comprehensive campaign aimed at invigorating domestic tourism.

The initiative, announced by the Moroccan National Tourist Office, includes a multifaceted media campaign specifically targeting domestic tourists. Partnering with the National Railway Office, the campaign aims to breathe new life into various tourist destinations across Morocco and promote travel and exploration between different regions of the country.

Central to the campaign are significant incentives for travelers, including discounted and incentivized transportation rates facilitated through the National Railway Office’s extensive network. For the upcoming summer season, the National Railway Office has introduced 350,000 travel tickets at attractive prices, starting at $9.18 for high-speed “Al Boraq” trains and $5.05 for Atlas trains.

To maximize outreach, the campaign will heavily utilize digital channels, particularly social media platforms, leveraging the influence prominent celebrities and influencers. Urban advertisements in key destinations serviced by the National Railway Office and national electronic media will further amplify the campaign’s visibility.

Complementing these efforts is the “Yalla Morocco” card, offering a 30% discount on all journeys aboard Atlas and Al Boraq trains, making travel more accessible and affordable for Moroccan citizens.

This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to stimulating domestic tourism as a vital economic sector. The partnership between the Moroccan National Tourist Office and the National Railway Office, established under a 2021 agreement, highlights the strategic utilization of Morocco’s extensive railway infrastructure to facilitate seamless travel and enhance accessibility to the country’s rich natural and cultural heritage.

By encouraging Moroccans to explore their own country, these measures not only promote local tourism but also contribute to economic growth and the overall development of Morocco’s tourism industry. Through initiatives like these, the government aims to position domestic tourism as a cornerstone of Morocco’s tourism strategy, encouraging citizens to discover and appreciate the diverse attractions that their country has to offer.
