Casablanca – Royal Air Maroc (RAM) decided to relaunch its direct flight route between Casablanca and Sao Paulo, Brazil. This move, scheduled to commence on December 7, 2024, with three weekly flights, underscores Morocco’s strategic importance in global aviation and its commitment to enhancing international connectivity.
The decision to reinstate the Casablanca – Sao Paulo route comes as a testament to Morocco’s efforts to integrate into global value chains and bolster its industrial capabilities. By expanding its air network to include key destinations in Latin America, Morocco aims to position itself as a vital hub for transcontinental travel and trade.
According to Royal Air Maroc’s statement, flights from Casablanca will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, departing at 4:40 PM (local time) and arriving in Sao Paulo at 10:20 PM (local time). Return flights from Sao Paulo will depart on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 12:20 AM (local time), with arrival in Casablanca scheduled for 1:15 PM.
These direct flights will be facilitated by state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, renowned for their advanced features, superior comfort levels, and eco-friendly design aimed at reducing carbon emissions.
Hamid Addou, President of Royal Air Maroc, expressed his delight at the prospect of resuming the Casablanca – Sao Paulo route, emphasizing its strategic importance for the airline’s growth. He highlighted the route’s potential to enhance RAM’s long-haul network and reestablish its presence in the Latin American market.
Addou further stated that the reinstated route would not only facilitate travel for tourists and business travelers between the two continents but also cater to the growing demand from European tourists seeking combined trips to Africa and Latin America.
The reopening of the Casablanca – Sao Paulo route marks an important step for Morocco’s aviation sector and is expected to boost the country’s economy by strengthening ties with Brazil.
