Casablanca – Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch announced that over 1 million and 4 thousand families have benefited from the initial disbursement of the Direct Social Support Program. The program, aimed at providing financial aid to vulnerable families, has been implemented smoothly, with a total disbursement exceeding $53.98 million USD (524 million dirhams.

The Prime Minister stated that the electronic portal dedicated to the program, www.asd.ma, has received an overwhelming response from Moroccan families, with approximately 2.9 million benefit requests submitted as of today.

Akhannouch detailed the distribution of the support as follows: more than 64% of the requests are for monthly allowances for both school-going and non-school-going children, while over 34% are emergency assistance requests amounting to 500 dirhams each (approximately $51.54). Additionally, 273 requests have been made for childbirth grants.

Families that submitted their requests after December 10 of the previous year will receive their first two monthly installments for December and January by the end of this month.

Akhannouch reassured citizens about the ongoing availability of the program, emphasizing that eligible families still have the opportunity to apply for support.

The Direct Social Support Program has been widely regarded as a historic initiative aimed at alleviating financial burdens on vulnerable families across Morocco.
