Casablanca – Morocco has reinforced its ambitions in the global aerospace industry with the signing of three new strategic agreements at the 8th edition of the Aerospace Meetings Casablanca, a major international convention for the aviation and space sectors. The accords mark an important step in consolidating Morocco’s role as a competitive industrial hub while deepening its integration into global supply chains.

The event, held from October 30 to November 2, 2025, at Midparc in Nouaceur, brought together 250 companies from 22 countries and is expected to draw around 800 participants. It has become a must-attend gathering for industry stakeholders, connecting manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and subcontractors across the aerospace value chain.

Three agreements with industry leaders

At the heart of this year’s edition was the signing of three memoranda of understanding between Morocco’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and key players in the aerospace sector: Ratier-Figeac Maroc, Nicomatic Maroc, and REDSTART Aero. The agreements aim to increase local industrial integration, expand Collins Aerospace’s sourcing from Moroccan suppliers, and create new high-value specializations in the country.

Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour emphasized the significance of these partnerships, describing them as a “concrete milestone” in Morocco’s collaboration with Collins Aerospace. “These protocols consolidate an integrated supply ecosystem capable of expanding the local supply chain while positioning the Kingdom in new, high value-added aerospace specializations,” Mezzour said.

Details of the projects

  • Ratier-Figeac Maroc, a Collins Aerospace subsidiary, will open a new assembly line for cockpit and cabin equipment at its Nouaceur site. This expansion will bring advanced technologies and new expertise to Morocco while creating training opportunities and jobs for local engineers and technicians.
  • Nicomatic Maroc, the Moroccan arm of French connectivity solutions leader Nicomatic, will establish a new industrial unit in Casablanca dedicated to producing illuminated cockpit panels. This project introduces a strategic new product into Morocco’s aerospace portfolio and strengthens the country’s positioning as an advanced industrial platform. Nicomatic has been operating in Morocco since 2022, serving critical sectors worldwide.
  • REDSTART Aero, a company created by Irish aerospace firms DPF Engineering and Shannon Precision Engineering, will expand its production site with a unit specializing in high-precision machined parts. This investment is expected to integrate Morocco more deeply into global subcontracting networks and generate highly skilled employment.

According to Minister Mezzour, the projects collectively demonstrate Morocco’s determination to build a sustainable, innovative, and fully integrated aerospace industry that meets the highest international standards.

Innovation and skills development

This year’s Aerospace Meetings Casablanca also witnessed the launch of the AMC Lab, the first prototyping center of its kind in Morocco. Designed as a strategic platform for innovation, the lab will enable young talents to learn, experiment, and transform ideas into products more efficiently.

The initiative is seen as a way to accelerate the transition from concept to production, enhance the competitiveness of Moroccan manufacturers, and nurture local expertise for the benefit of the aerospace sector.

Morocco’s aerospace ambitions

The new agreements align with Morocco’s long-term strategy to raise the local integration rate of its aerospace industry, ensuring that a larger share of production and added value remains within the country. This strategy is central to Morocco’s goal of becoming both an African leader and a global platform for aerospace and defense industries.

The focus on high-value segments such as precision engineering, electronic design, and advanced manufacturing reflects Morocco’s ambition to move beyond assembly and into specialized areas of aerospace technology. By doing so, the Kingdom aims to diversify its industrial base, increase exports, and consolidate its reputation as a reliable global partner in advanced industries.

Looking ahead

As the aerospace sector grows worldwide, Morocco is positioning itself as a competitive destination for investment and innovation. The combination of new industrial projects, strategic partnerships, and skills development illustrates the country’s commitment to long-term growth. With the 8th Aerospace Meetings Casablanca serving as both a networking hub and a showcase of achievements, Morocco has reaffirmed its place on the global aerospace map. The newly signed agreements not only strengthen ties with industry giants like Collins Aerospace but also open new opportunities for Moroccan suppliers, engineers, and innovators to contribute to the future of aviation and space technology.
