Casablanca – Morocco is ramping up its appeal to the global Moroccan diaspora, encouraging them to engage in the country’s flourishing investment opportunities, especially within the realms of entrepreneurship and innovation. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, the Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Public Administration Reform, made this call in Paris at the 16th Enterprise Creation Day, organized by the “Maroc Entrepreneurs” association.
In her speech, Seghrouchni highlighted Morocco’s strong political stability and the clear governance framework that the government has established to foster an environment ripe for investment. She emphasized that the Kingdom is undergoing a dynamic transformation—especially within innovation and digital sectors—that opens new avenues for entrepreneurs both at home and abroad.
At the heart of this transformation is Morocco’s “Morocco Digital 2030” strategy, which focuses on nurturing startups and supporting digital growth through tailored financial mechanisms, including venture capital and venture building. These resources cater to businesses at all stages of growth, ensuring that investors and entrepreneurs have the tools they need to succeed.
This year’s Enterprise Creation Day, held under the theme “Morocco: Land of Investment and Entrepreneurship,” also marked the 25th anniversary of the Maroc Entrepreneurs association. The event brought together a broad range of experts, investors, and entrepreneurs, including many from the Moroccan diaspora, to discuss opportunities in tech startups, digital innovation, and major upcoming projects like the 2030 World Cup—an event set to serve as a catalyst for both digital and economic transformation in Morocco.
Seghrouchni pointed out that the growing engagement from the Moroccan diaspora is a significant part of this momentum. “Morocco is truly an open construction site, full of opportunities, and we invite the talents and entrepreneurs from around the world to join us in building a more competitive, innovative, and globally connected country,” she said.
The event also featured insights from key figures in the field of entrepreneurship, who highlighted the increasing interest among the diaspora to contribute to Morocco’s development. Particular emphasis was placed on sectors such as artificial intelligence and green hydrogen, which offer promising investment and collaboration opportunities.
Through initiatives like “Tremplin Maroc,” the Maroc Entrepreneurs association has been supporting Moroccan entrepreneurs worldwide for 25 years, facilitating networking and fostering business creation in the Kingdom. The association continues to play a vital role in encouraging collaboration between local and global talents, providing vital resources for those looking to invest or start businesses in Morocco.
With an inviting investment climate, solid economic prospects, and an established framework for entrepreneurship, Morocco is positioning itself as a regional hub for innovation and business development. The Kingdom’s efforts to engage its diaspora in this process are crucial in driving forward the country’s growth in the digital age.
Morocco’s call to action is clear: with a collaborative spirit and an eye on the future, the nation is ready to embark on its next phase of economic and digital transformation, and the diaspora is invited to play a pivotal role.
