Casablanca – The Marrakech-Safi region has taken a significant step in strengthening its industrial infrastructure with the official inauguration of the Marrakech Industrial Park in Tamansourt. This milestone marks a major boost for the local economy, positioning the region as an attractive destination for national and international investment.

A vision for economic growth

Led by the Marrakech-Safi Regional Council and executed by the Regional Agency for Project Execution, the project aligns with Morocco’s New Development Model and regional economic strategies. As a key component of the Regional Territorial Planning Scheme (SRAT) and the 2022-2027 Regional Development Plan (PDR), the industrial hub is designed to create a business-friendly environment while promoting sustainable economic growth.

High-level inauguration ceremony

The launch event, held at the Kenzi Rose Garden Hotel in Marrakech, gathered senior government officials, institutional representatives, and key economic stakeholders. The ceremony was attended by ministers, ambassadors, and economic advisers from multiple embassies, reflecting international interest in the project.

Speaking at the event, Samir Goudar, President of the Marrakech-Safi Regional Council, emphasized the project’s significance, stating that it offers a modern, integrated industrial space tailored to investor needs. He also highlighted its role in diversifying the regional economy, fostering technological innovation, and supporting long-term job creation.

A strategic investment for the region

With a total investment of $22.2 million, the industrial park offers flexible land plots ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 square meters, designed to accommodate various industrial sectors. The project aims to provide companies with state-of-the-art infrastructure, ensuring they operate in an efficient and well-equipped environment.

“This platform is more than just an industrial zone—it’s a step towards a more inclusive and sustainable economic future for Marrakech-Safi,” said Taoufik Moucharaf, Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. He noted that the initiative aligns with Morocco’s broader industrial strategy, aimed at strengthening national production and reducing economic dependence on imports.

Sustainability and innovation at the core

Beyond economic incentives, the Marrakech Industrial Park embraces sustainability and responsible business practices. The project incorporates measures to reduce environmental impact, promote innovative industrial solutions, and support local entrepreneurs looking to establish new ventures in the region.

Opportunities for investors

The Marrakech Industrial Park is expected to enhance the region’s competitiveness, offering an ideal setting for businesses seeking to expand their operations. The project not only strengthens Marrakech-Safi’s position as a leading industrial hub but also serves as a catalyst for innovation and job creation.

With its strategic location, robust infrastructure, and investor-friendly approach, the industrial hub is set to attract both local and foreign companies. Interested businesses will soon have the opportunity to express their interest and establish operations within the park.

A promising future for industrial development

The inauguration of the Marrakech Industrial Park is a testament to the region’s commitment to economic transformation. By offering a modern, well-equipped industrial ecosystem, the project lays the foundation for long-term economic growth, industrial diversification, and job sustainability in the Marrakech-Safi region.
