Casablanca-Changan Automobile, a prominent player in the Chinese automotive industry, has announced its forthcoming entry into the Moroccan market in collaboration with Bugshan Automotive Group. This strategic move signifies a significant event in Morocco’s automotive sector, aiming to diversify and expand the range of vehicles available to consumers.

With over 160 years of industrial history, Changan boasts a reputation for producing diverse and stylish models, known for their reliability and advanced technology. The brand offers a wide spectrum of vehicles, ranging from electric to plug-in hybrids, as well as gasoline models. With ambitious targets set, Changan aims to position itself among the world’s top 10 automakers by 2030.

Bugshan Automotive Group, a well-established player in the Moroccan car distribution scene, brings a wealth of experience and a diverse brand portfolio including Hyundai, Aston Martin, Tata Motors, and Dongfeng. The addition of Changan enriches Bugshan’s offerings, expanding its brand portfolio to five.

Oussama Berrada, the general manager of Bugshan Automotive in Morocco, expressed enthusiasm about introducing Changan to the Moroccan market, emphasizing their commitment to providing consumers with world-renowned brands that cater to diverse mobility needs. The collaboration aims to offer excellent products and services, along with a significant presence across the Kingdom.

The official launch of Changan in Morocco is slated for the beginning of the first quarter of 2024, featuring an initial lineup of three to four models, including city cars and SUVs, subject to approvals. The brand intends to expand its range to seven or eight models to provide Moroccan consumers with a comprehensive selection.

The flagship Changan showroom will be strategically located in Ain Sebaa, the heart of Casablanca’s automobile zone, granting Moroccans convenient access to the entire range of Changan vehicles. An ambitious plan is in place for the rapid opening of 10 showrooms nationwide.

Changan’s arrival in partnership with Bugshan Automotive Group promises Moroccan consumers a unique customer experience, blending comfort, performance, and cutting-edge technology. Notably, Changan achieved impressive sales figures, surpassing 1.5 million vehicles sold worldwide in 2023. It was also recognized as the second best-selling Chinese brand globally for passenger vehicles until September 2023 and received accolades such as “Most Reliable Chinese Brand” by JD Power for two consecutive years, boasting the largest number of Research and Development centers among Chinese brands.
