Casablanca – Atlantic Tin Limited, a prominent player in the tin exploration and development sector, has announced a significant update regarding its Achmmach Tin Project, situated near the historic city of Meknès, Morocco. The company revealed an impressive revision of its mineral resource estimate, which positions Achmmach among the largest undeveloped tin deposits in the world, with a substantial increase in contained tin.

The latest assessment, conducted by the independent Cube Consulting firm in accordance with the rigorous JORC (2012) standards, reports total resources of 39.1 million tonnes of ore, with an average tin grade of 0.55%. This translates to approximately 213,000 tonnes of contained tin—an increase of 33% compared to the previous estimate released in 2021. Key factors contributing to this remarkable growth include the addition of 18 new diamond drill holes in the Sidi Addi zone, a reduction in the cut-off grade from 0.35% to 0.26%, and the inclusion of inferred resources surrounding the initial high-grade zones.

The strategic expansion of drilling areas and the revised cut-off grade reflect Atlantic Tin’s commitment to advancing the Achmmach project toward production. The project is operated in a low-risk jurisdiction and stands out for its potential to facilitate large-scale mechanized tin production, a crucial aspect given the global demand for this vital metal, particularly in the electronics and high-tech industries.

In conjunction with this promising resource estimate, Atlantic Tin is also developing a feasibility study that incorporates the neighboring Samine mine. The planned underground mining operations will utilize advanced mechanized caving methods, ensuring efficient extraction while minimizing environmental impact. This innovative approach not only enhances ore recovery but also aims to reduce surface waste by repurposing it as cemented backfill to support underground workings.

Moreover, the partnership with the Samine processing plant is set to bolster the infrastructure necessary for processing the tin ore, allowing for a seamless transition from extraction to production. Simon Milroy, CEO of Atlantic Tin, stated, “This increased resource estimate will serve as a cornerstone for our feasibility study of the combined Achmmach-Samine project. The updated figures clearly establish Achmmach as one of the largest undeveloped tin deposits globally, paving the way for future growth and development.”

Atlantic Tin remains dedicated to sustainable and responsible mining practices, aligning with the United Nations Global Compact’s Ten Principles, which guide the company’s operations in respect of human and labor rights, environmental stewardship, and anti-corruption efforts.

With its enhanced resource base and a solid strategic plan in place, Atlantic Tin Limited is well-positioned to contribute significantly to the global tin supply while fostering economic growth in Morocco and beyond.
